This colorful image of circus performers with a monkey was created by Ossip Zadkine in 1934. Zadkine was a lover of the circus and often went there with his wife Valentine Prax. During the performances, Zadkine was often laughing loudly, so loud that his wife Valentine Prax sometimes felt a little ashamed.
